dr. christopher palmer
dr. scott kurita
Dr. Palmer and Dr. Kurita met as classmates at Pacific University College of Optometry in 2006.
After graduation, Dr. Palmer served in the US Navy for 5 years at both Pearl Harbor and in North Carolina. He and his family then returned to Portland in 2015 where he joined Dr. Zelada at Fremont Family Vision.
Dr. Kurita first went to practice in Astoria, OR before moving to Texas to be closer to family. He missed the Northwest and ended up back in Portland.
When Dr. Zelada decided to retire in 2016, he sold the practice to Dr. Palmer. Soon after, Dr. Kurita joined the practice as a co-owner. Both are happy to have made Portland their home with their families and to continue the legacy of Fremont Family Vision.
The clinic was started by Dr. Blumberg in the 1960s when it was originally located on Union Ave, now MLK Blvd. It moved to our current location on Fremont Street in the 1970s. In 1990, Dr. Zelada became the owner and he developed a reputation for delivering welcoming and compassionate care to all. He also expanded the clinic into geriatric care at Providence Elder Place facilities. Today, Dr. Palmer and Dr. Kurita maintain the Fremont Family Vision tradition of providing quality care to the neighborhood and greater Portland.
Melissa, Debra, Sital, Celia and Chantel are all prepared to assist you with your eye care needs. Everyone at Fremont Family Vision takes pride in attending to the needs of our patients.
